The Ralston Group was formed in 1998 for the purpose of developing products that strengthen the pelvic floor muscles of women and thereby reduce the associated problems caused by weak muscles. The company now has four FDA registered medical devices.

The standard Feminine Personal Trainer (FPT), is the first product to apply the principles of weight training to the pelvic floor muscles of women and has proven successful in relieving pain, as well as other symptoms associated with disorders of the pelvic floor.

As the popularity of the FPT grew with medical professionals, we began to have requests for different sizes to accommodate the estimated 10% of women who could not use the FPT comfortably. Therefore, we developed the small and petite versions of the FPT.

Over the next several years the FPT became established with numerous physical therapists and hospitals specializing in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. As these caring professionals began to see the great benefit of “weight lifting” for the pelvic floor, they gave attention to the needs of their male patients recovering from surgery and other injuries. After receiving repeated requests for a “male device” we began development of the MPT, or Maximum Pelvic Trainer.

During the development of the MPT we combined our accumulated knowledge gained from the FPT work with the knowledge of anatomy professors, practicing physical therapists working with the pelvic floor, and other medical professionals. The end result of our determined efforts has become a medical first for men offering them the same rapid results as women.

Although the MPT was developed in 2002, we delayed release until the completion of adequate testing. Experience and acceptance was gained throughout the medical arena before releasing it to the general public in 2004.
